Job description

To oversee operational, planning and delivery for The Championships with a key focus on space, integration and processes.

 

What you will be doing

  • Oversee and support the contractor management programme working closely with the readiness team to ensure timelines relating to The Championships are met.
  • Ensure contractor communications and working practices are adopted generating a one team ethos and to maintain consistency with operational planning.
  • Oversee day to day contractor management processes and support the overlay team to ensure working guidelines are implemented and adhered to.
  • Support with contractors on site ensuring compliance with site rules and regulations.  
  • Work with legal to manage new contracts, renewals and tenders relating to venue operational suppliers and contractors whilst ensuring innovation and strategic priorities are central to any decisions or appointments made. 
  • Work closely with the Overlay and Guest Experience Team to integrate plans, developing an understanding of wider operational planning across The Championships, managing consultation with safety where required to maintain compliance.  
  • Lead and implement space management plans on behalf of operations integrating with key members of this group to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and that functions are operating effectively. 
  • Integrate with key members from the Estate Management Team to ensure key business initiatives are met and to maintain a seamless transition into and out of The Championships.  
  • Support the Associate Director (Venue Operations) with strategic initiatives and other business priorities when required.  
  • Work with other functional areas and service providers to integrate plans relating to the delivery of The Championships. 
  • Build strong relationships through active collaboration and leadership, acting as a key point of contact with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Review current ways of working across operations, making recommendations for improvement whilst ensuring processes and inventories are managed effectively.   
  • Develop and lead on content for various working groups, and other operational meetings to ensure plans across functional areas are fully integrated. 
  • Understand, create and embed timelines that work into the business readiness programme for your designated areas of work.  
  • Ensure all operational documentation is filed updated and shared with wider stakeholders and functions across the business. 

About You

  • You have significant experience of working at a major venue where you have contributed to the planning and delivery of a large scale, complex event.
  • You’ll need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, understand major sporting events and how functional areas scope, plan and integrate.
  • You’ll have demonstrable experience of managing multiple contractors from procurement to installation, delivery and derig and logistics processes.
  • You will have experience in assessing risks and contract documentation.
  • You will have led on the management of people and workforce on a full time, part time and freelance basis.
  • You’re agile and able to navigate complex issues whilst supporting the business to arrive at the best outcome for all.
  • An experienced leader, you have the ability to lead by example and have a willingness to take on whatever responsibilities are required, in the best interests of our people and our business goals.
