Job description
This role sits within the Communications team to support the delivery of the organisation’s communications strategy and engagement plan across a variety of audience stakeholder groups, both external and internal.
What You’ll Be Doing
- A varied and wide-ranging role, the successful candidate will need to build and maintain relationships with colleagues across various All England Club departments and provide them with communications support.
- Help field and manage enquiries from local, national and international media and maintain contact details/media lists/messaging database.
- Actively contribute to the creation and publication of varied handbooks, covering different guest groups and internal colleagues.
- Contribute to the organisation’s day-to-day internal communications function, including planning, sourcing and creating content for a variety of channels and events.
- Plan and execute media conferences and all other media functions to a high level.
- Support the All England Club’s guest services team by tracking correspondence from the public and ensuring letters and emails are responded to in a timely and comprehensive manner.
- In the lead up to The Championships, provide administrative support to the Communications team by processing accreditation applications and contracts, and managing operational services such as meal allowances and car parking passes.
During The Championships
- The role is part of the Communications team that is responsible for overseeing and delivering all proactive and reactive communications for The Championships.
- Process and monitor media requests submitted by the international media who may be on-site or working remotely.
- Assist with planning and execution of media opportunities with a variety of Championships stakeholders, including All England Club spokespeople.
- Chaperone journalists, broadcast crews or photographers during media opportunities as needed.
- Support the Communications team with the writing of media releases, statements, and fact sheets, and assist with the distribution of these to the media.
- Contribute to the daily newsletters for colleagues and guests by writing articles and edit/proofread content.
- Develop a knowledge and understanding of All England Club policies and procedures, ensuring that all media personnel observe these while around the Grounds and in the Media Centre.
- Any other duties reasonably required by the Communications team.
What We’re Looking For
- Possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy and, at times, high pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm for working collaboratively and developing strong working relationships with a diverse range of people.
- Possess strong guest service skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- An interest or study in the fields of communications, media operations or journalism would be desirable.
- An interest or experience in the sports industry and tennis knowledge a bonus.
- Foreign languages may be useful.
- Able to commit to the entire period of The Championships: Monday 22 June to Sunday 12 July 2026.
