Job description
We are looking for someone who can oversee the execution of the All England Lawn Tennis Club (Championships) Ltd Night Duty delivery operation, ensuring that deliveries are effectively searched. Manage both Explosive Detection Dogs and Security Industry Authority Licensed Door Supervisors deployed to search vehicles on arrival at the Grounds.
What you will be doing
- Oversee the execution of the AELTC’s Night Duty delivery operation.
- Manage the overnight search operation, (including officers, explosive detection and drug dogs), both in relation to the delivery operation and other taskings.
- Working with the Operation Centre, oversee the supervision and deployment of General Patrol Dogs.
- Support the overnight Metropolitan Police Service search operation as agreed with MPS.
- Support all partners working on the Grounds overnight.
- Oversee the correct handling of overnight courier deliveries, including the use of the X-ray machine and booking in.
- Work with the AELTC Championships Night Managers and Operations Centre Duty Manager as required.
- Be available to work during the period of The Qualifying Event and Championships. In 2025 this will be from Thursday 19 June to Sunday 13 July inclusive, (25 days).
- Attend pre-Championships briefings and meetings in preparation for each Championships, (1 day to be confirmed).
What part your role will play in The Championships
- Ensure the integrity of the Championships Security operation is not breached during the night duty period.
- Support the wider business operation to deliver a Safe and Secure Championships.
About you
- Demonstrate experience and knowledge of search operations including the use of X-ray Machines, Explosive Detection Dogs and Explosive Trace Detection Equipment.
- Ideally received recognised training in search methods and Counter-terrorism mitigation.
- Ideally completed, or in the process of completing, a formal training course in Counter-terrorism assessment and mitigation.
- Can demonstrate the ability to design and lead a planned search operation.
- Can demonstrate an awareness of current issues in relation to the transition to the National Canine Training and Accreditation Scheme – Private Security standard.
- Can demonstrate an ability to understand, and apply, propionate risk mitigation to counter threats.
- Understand the role of The National Protective Security Authority, the National Counter-terrorism Security Office, and ProtectUK, in countering terrorism.
- Understands AELTC’s values, “The Wimbledon Way” and Guest Experience objectives.
- Can demonstrate a basic awareness of commercial issues, such as the requirements of service delivery detailed in service agreements.
- Be willing to commit to return in future years to fulfil the role.
