Job description

We are looking for a Court Services Supervisor to work at our AELTC Community Tennis Centre (Raynes Park) which is our official venue in  the lead up to and during The Championships.  Availability is required from Monday 27 May 2026 to Wednesday 8 July 2026. This is a seven-week contract and a minimum of one day off per week will be allocated through the team rota.

What you will be doing

  • Oversee the daily management of a team of 34 Court Services staff at Raynes Park, the official practice venue for The Championships.
  • Report directly to the Court Services Manager and Lead Grounds person at Raynes Park.
  • Liaise closely with the Lead Grounds Person and Raynes Park Venue Managers to coordinate daily tasks and operational priorities.
  • Ensure courts are uncovered and covered correctly and efficiently each morning and evening, and promptly in the event of inclement weather.
  • Organise staff into effective working teams to ensure all duties are completed to a high standard and within required timeframes.
  • Manage staff break schedules and days off, ensuring compliance with rota allocations and operational requirements.
  • Set clear expectations for team performance and behaviour throughout the event.
  • Monitor staff performance and conduct on site, ensuring high standards are consistently maintained.
  • Maintain regular staff feedback and complete performance evaluations during the event period.
  • Deliver best-in-class customer service to players, officials, and members of the public attending the Raynes Park venue.
  • Provide daily operational and staffing updates to the Court Services Manager

About You

  • Proven experience supervising or managing large teams within a professional environment; strong people management skills are essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders and manage expectations within the Court Services team.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead a team, maintain high standards, and ensure all operational tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Experience managing rotas, including facilitating break schedules and responding to last-minute changes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to address performance issues and escalate matters appropriately when required.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • While prior experience with grass court covers is not essential, the role is physically demanding; a good level of fitness is advantageous. The ability to lead by example and support the team with daily operational tasks is highly desirable.
  • A solid understanding of tennis and tennis court set-up is preferred.
  • Professionalism and discretion when working around elite athletes and high-profile individuals.

Working Hours

  • Availability is required from Monday 27 May 2026 to Wednesday 8 July 2026.
  • Attendance at a training day and/or meetings with the Court Services Manager and Lead Grounds Person may be required during the week prior to 27 May 2026.
  • This is a seven-week contract. A minimum of one day off per week will be allocated through the team rota.
  • Shifts will typically commence between 7:30am and 8:00am. Finish times will vary depending on operational requirements. On busy practice or LTA event days, shifts may extend until 9:00–10:00pm. On quieter days, finish times may be as early as 4:00–5:00pm. Due to the nature of the event, final working hours will be confirmed closer to the time.
