Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for an early‑career project professional to help shape the future of one of the most iconic sporting estates in the world. Working directly for the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), you will support the delivery of a diverse pipeline of estate development projects running well into the 2030's. You will be part of the AELTC Estate Project Delivery team, a group of 20 project, design, and information management specialists, at the world‑famous SW19 site.

The role offers exposure to leading architects, designers, and consultants, as well as the chance to develop your project management capability in a supportive and high‑performing environments and support delivery of projects that will influence the evolution of the Wimbledon estate. Projects range from under £1m to more than £200m, giving you opportunities to assist on large strategic programmes and eventually take responsibility for smaller works under guidance.

 

What you will be doing

  • Provide a first‑class, year‑round service with world‑class support for The Championships, supporting project managers throughout all project stages, from briefing and design through construction and handover.
  • Help coordinate stakeholders, consultants, and contractors, ensuring smooth communication and alignment with AELTC requirements.
  • A commitment to developing collaborative and engaging stakeholder management skills to deliver excellent service to the client Assist with project documentation, reports, meeting minutes, risk logs, and programme updates.
  • Participate in site visits, design reviews, and supplier meetings.
  • Help nurture professional, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the preparation of project briefs, tender documents, cost reports, and governance packs.
  • Support the administration of contracts (typically amended JCT forms) under supervision.
  • Monitor project progress and support the team in maintaining quality, cost control, and programme adherence.
  • Contribute to the management of project information using AELTC systems, document control processes, and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrate AELTC values in day‑to‑day work, contributing to a culture of collaboration, respect, and excellence.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and updates for internal committees and stakeholders.

About you

  • Degree‑level qualification/ apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a relevant field (construction, engineering, architecture, project management).
  • Working toward or interested in pursuing a professional accreditation (APM, RICS, etc.).
  • 1–3 years’ experience in construction, design, or project delivery (including placements and/or internships).
  • Basic understanding of design and construction processes (knowledge of RIBA Stages is advantageous).
  • Organised, proactive, and able to support multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Analytical mindset with interest in problem solving, budgeting, and planning.
  • Enthusiastic about working both in design and on site and contributing to high‑quality project outcomes.
  • Committed to safety, with an awareness of CDM regulations (training provided).
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, ) in a Project Management context.
