Job description
Working within the Retail team, this person will be the main point of contact for clients taking hospitality at The Championships 2025 to facilitate the fulfilment of bulk merchandise orders in response to their gifting requirements. This is a fixed term position from 1 April to 25 July 2025.
Background
During The Championships, the Wimbledon Shop operates four major outlets and eight express outlets across the site. The Wimbledon Shop stocks a wide selection of Championships branded event merchandise and apparel, in addition to collections from our licensed partners, Babolat, Christy and Ralph Lauren. Those organisations taking up hospitality at Wimbledon are invited to engage with the Retail team in support of their gifting requirements. The Hospitality Gifting Coordinator will be responsible for owning the day-to-day relationship with our hospitality guests. During the event, they will oversee the timely and accurate delivery of bulk orders to the No.1 Court and Skyview suites, as well as the Lawn & Rosewater Pavilion.
Main Responsibilities
- Daily communication with Wimbledon’s hospitality clients in support of their gifting requirements.
- Taking receipt of orders and sending out written confirmations.
- Maintaining accurate records of orders placed, arranging fulfilment & delivery direct to client.
- Keeping accurate track of stock using the stock control system and working alongside relevant members of the retail management team.
- Raising and reconciling invoices.
- Facilitating the internal gifting requirements of AELTC and Royal Box.
- Supporting the distribution of championships uniform to retail staff in the week prior to event.
Person Specification
- Experience within the events or retail industry is desirable
- Smart and presentable while representing the AELTC
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to work independently
- Excellent communication and English language skills
- High level of numeracy and accuracy when entering data
- Reasonable level of computer literacy, including moderate Excel skills
- Manual work is a requirement of both the pre-event and post-event periods where the Management Team will be primarily involved in the movements of stock about the site.
Days and hours of work
- This role is expected to start on 1 April 2025 and finish on 25 July 2025.
- Contract will be based on a 5-day Monday to Friday working week, 9am to 5pm until the weekend before The Championships.
- During The Championships fortnight (30 June - 13 July) hours will be 7:15am to 6:00pm.
- Availability to work on every day of The Championships is a condition of employment.
