Tennis Coach
Job description
Reporting to the Community Head Coach, this role will support the delivery of the WJTI, Junior and Adult community programmes, tennis events and related activities. The role will include regular weekday, weekend and evening work on a casual contract basis and is based at The All England Lawn Tennis Club Community Tennis Centre (Raynes Park) and The Wimbledon Qualifying and Community Sports Centre (Roehampton).
What you will be doing
- Being a strong, proactive ambassador for the AELTC.
- Supporting the delivery of the coaching sessions for WJTI, Juniors and Adults each week
- Participating and organising groups, warm up sessions, safe areas to play at the community sites including local schools.
- Supporting the development of junior tennis development with the ability to engage and enthuse players with a range of abilities.
- Understanding and awareness of the competitive tennis journey
- Understanding, awareness and compliance with the AELTC Health and Safety Policy and Procedures, Child Protection Policy and Guidelines and Site Rules.
What part your role will play during The Championships
- During Official and Unofficial Practice, The All England Lawn Tennis Club Community Tennis Centre (Raynes Park) hosts players competing in The Championships and supports the Commercial team as a venue for AELTC Partner activation activity.
- During The Championships, The All England Lawn Tennis Club Community Tennis Centre (Raynes Park) provides facilities for Club Members.
- Pre-Championships The Wimbledon Qualifying and Community Sports Centre (Roehampton) hosts our Qualifying Event.
- Assisting the wider team during The Championships to ensure Members and their guests have an outstanding guest experience.
About you
- Up to date LTA coach accreditation, ongoing professional development, a level 3 or level 4 qualification, including DBS disclosure which is satisfactory to the Company.
- Passionate about tennis, coaching sport and improving players irrespective of their starting level
- Team Player - Professional and diplomatic with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills; able to build and maintain effective working relationships and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders – internal and external.
- Ambition and commitment to improve as a coach
- Understanding, and ability to support the delivery of, outstanding guest satisfaction experience.
- Understanding and knowledge of a community environment and/or Sports environment.

The facilities include grass, indoor and outdoor courts including sports pitches available for hire by local community groups and the Clubhouse and ancillary facilities support the use of the courts and pitches.
- The Wimbledon Qualifying and Community Sports Centre (Roehampton) hosts junior and adult coaching and programming, school, team and individual bookings including Football, Netball, Pickleball, Hockey and Tennis and the facilities include indoor and outdoor facilities available to hire by local community groups.
- The All England Lawn Tennis Club Community Tennis Centre (Raynes Park) and The Wimbledon Qualifying and Community Sports Centre (Roehampton) are open 7 days/week and the role will include working weekdays, weekends and evenings.
The role will require an up-to-date LTA coach accreditation, ongoing professional development, minimum level 3 or 4 qualification including DBS disclosure which is satisfactory to the Company.
