Job description

We're looking for a tennis coach to join our team at Wimbledon. 

What you will be doing

  • Be a good ambassador for the WJTI
  • Deliver the coaching sessions scheduled by the WJTI in the ethos of the Initiative
  • Participate in the organising of groups and warms ups
  • Get to know the players and their families well
  • Participate in the setting up of safe areas to play in for the various sessions
  • Comply with health and safety policies and procedures and follow the Club’s Safeguarding Policy and Guidelines

  • Other duties within the scope of the role as may be required by the WJTI Manager

About you

  • Up-to-date LTA Coach Accreditation, including satisfactory DBS disclosure
  • Work experience of junior tennis coaching with large groups and individuals
  • Enthusiasm for junior tennis development and able to pass on this enthusiasm to juniors; interest in working with all standards and abilities
  • Understanding of the tennis journey and why we play
  • Excellent communication skills and personal presentation
  • Excellent energy and self-motivation
  • Able to use initiative
  • Able to interact well with parents and other members of the coaching team

  • There is an expectation for working hours and days to include regular weekend work
