Job description
The purpose of the Overlay Manager role is to support across our transition into and out of the Championships coordinating planned works across our venues working with a variety of contractors to ensure ease of access, compliance with site rules and overseeing installations to the planning, coordination, and delivery of a variety of departments in line with Health and Safety regulations.
Overlay Managers are appointed across our AELTC venues which includes The Grounds, Indoor Tennis Centre, Wimbledon Qualifying and Community Sports Centre, Community Sport Centre Raynes Park, Wimbledon Park and The Wimbledon Club. This Overlay Manager role will primarily be based at Wimbledon Qualifying.
What you will be doing
- Overseeing the construction of all temporary structures and overlay to ensure agreed timelines are met and installations are as per plan.
- Interpreting drawings to ensure internal fit outs and logistics inventories across temporary and permanent spaces are as planned and shared with suppliers.
- Monitoring contractor works to ensure compliance in accordance with the AELTC Site rules and regulations to ensure minimised risk and damage.
- Issuing permits to work in accordance with the AELTC site rules and regulations.
- Reporting and logging any incidents/damage so that investigatory/remedial works can be carried out.
- Monitoring progress across transition periods to ensure timelines are met, providing updates to line manager daily and reporting any concerns across the delivery.
- Building a rapport with Estate Management and work closely with service providers across venue problem solving as required.
- Liaising with the on-site security teams and traffic marshals to co-ordinate contractor deliveries and vehicle access.
- Assisting with administrative tasks, including distribution of accreditation, monitoring and inputting into transition schedules, updating daily logs and offering photos to support daily progress of works.
Dates and working hours
- Contract is set between January through to December
- You will be required to work some weekends and consider flexible working hours in line with venue operational needs and schedule of works. Shift patterns amongst the team will be established.
- Workwear, PPE and relevant technology will be provided for the role.
About you
- CITB SMSTS or SSSTS certified (desirable)
- Good understanding of CDM regulations and experience of working on a CDM site
- Good understanding of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Experience in Site and Event Management
- Confidence and proficiency in working in public environments with complex event installations and working within licensed premises
- Keen observational skills with an ability to identify hazards and anticipate actions required
- Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
- Good understanding of project management; excellent organisational and planning skills
- Ability to identify challenges and work through problem-solving solutions in a pressurised environment
- A team player with strong site leadership skills
- Desirable skills include: First Aid qualification, forklift/telehandler certified, and familiarity with using online site inspection and auditing applications
