Job description

We are excited to launch The AELTC's Championships Development Programme 2026. We are committed to creating more entry level roles in the sports and events industry and offering exposure to the internal workings of delivering a world-leading sports event.

We have opportunities available in a wide range of business areas including Operations, Recruitment, Professional Tennis, Estate Development and many more. Throughout the business we are passionate about creating an outstanding experience for our members, employees, year-round guests, and everyone who visits The Championships. The programme will start on 04 February 2026 for a fixed period working on a full-time basis Monday to Friday with occasional weekends and longer working hours during The Championships (29 June 2026 - 12 July 2026). You can find more information about each role below, listed by Department. If shortlisted, you will be invited to attend an in person Assessment Centre at The AELTC on Tuesday 18 November or Wednesday 19 November.

  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team - flexibility is key, as our roles may involve remote work from home as well as on-site work at Wimbledon

Club Department

Club Office Assistant (February to September)
In this role you will work in the Club Office team to provide an excellent service to our Members. You will support both the Membership & Communications Manager and the Events Manager with Club Office administration and reception duties: weekly newsletters, updating noticeboards, preparing gifts, answering the phones, managing the Club Office email inbox, making name badges, preparing tickets and organising food and drink bookings. You will assist with the planning and delivery of social events as well as an exciting 3-day Members event after The Championships welcoming 150 tennis players from around the world.

Estate Department

Energy & Environment Assistant (February to September)
The Energy and Environment team form part of the Estates Development team and are responsible for leading the drive for net zero carbon emissions and nature positive outcomes across the organisation. On this journey, we have delivered projects such as the decarbonisation of the Aorangi Building by removing fossil fuel energy sources; wildflower planting across swathes of the estate and converting kitchens form gas power to renewable electricity. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in client-side energy and environmental sustainability. Key focus points could include supporting the development of an energy management system, administering ecological surveys in Wimbledon Park or supporting the sustainability communications strategy and carbon reporting. You'll have the chance to get hands on experience in the field of sustainability, making it an ideal position for those looking to break into or broaden their expertise in the field.

Finance Department

Debenture Office Assistant (February to July)

This placement will support the team who are responsible for managing the relationships with debenture holders, one of our most premium guest groups. This guest group own debenture tickets for Centre Court and/or No.1 Court and have access to exclusive areas during The Championships. The team provide a range of services to these high-net worth individuals throughout the year and during The Championships. You will play an important part in delivering a world-class guest experience to them. This will involve connecting with them by phone and email to resolve their queries, supporting on a range of administrative tasks, maintaining records on databases, creating web and communications copy, assisting with planning engaging host training sessions and supporting with the organisation of two large scale events outside of The Championships. You will be highly detail orientated, confidently thrive in guest facing situations, have strong communication skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

HR Department

Recruitment Assistant (February to July)
In our HR department the Championships Recruitment Team provide a proactive recruitment administration service to attract, develop and retain the best possible talent to support the delivery of The Championships. We employ over 2,100 temporary colleagues each year and in this position you will provide administrative support for the recruitment campaign. This will include assisting with the smooth running of the Assessment Centres, recording right to work documents, monitoring and responding to emails, issuing contracts of employment, following system procedures to onboard new employees, uploading data for accreditation, and collating timesheets and recording hours.

Marketing & Commercial

Guest Research Assistant (February to August)
The need to understand the behaviours and attitudes of our different audiences year-round, during The Championships, and as global digital guests, has never been more important and this is a great opportunity to see how understanding more about our global audiences affects change across the business. You will support the guest data and insights team with the build, delivery and analysis of all guest insights, building surveys within a survey platform, conducting insight reports and analysing statistics and commentary to generate bespoke reports. We are looking for a data-driven candidate with an interest in analysing and interpreting data and trends.
Hospitality & Partnerships Assistant (February to August)
Reporting to our Hospitality Manager, you will assist with implementing a corporate hospitality operation for The Championships, delivering a best in class and on-brand hospitality offer. This will involve coordinating site access for contractors and partners, furniture and stock inventories and ordering, managing Suite deliveries, assisting with hospitality host training, supporting at client and supplier meetings, and administering Official Partner events in the lead up to and during The Championships. You should be prepared for a busy event period supporting clients, accreditation management, point of contact for hospitality hosts, and ensuring that we deliver a premium guest experience, particularly across of our Official Partner hospitality programme. 
Retail Operations Assistant (February to July)
The Wimbledon Shop is a high-performing retail operation, running four major outlets and ten express shops across the grounds during The Championships and Qualifying. As part of the Buying and Operations team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering a world-class retail experience to hundreds of thousands of visitors. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in large-scale retail operations, logistics, and event delivery. You’ll support the team through the build-up, live event, and post-Championships wrap-up working alongside a temporary workforce of over 350 colleagues.

Operations Department

Guest Services Assistant (February to July)
The operations team is committed to delivering a best in class guest experience for our all of our ticket holders who attend the Championships. The guest experience programme is designed to provide joy and extraordinary moments throughout a guests visit to our Grounds and this position will play a key part in helping to deliver this. As part of the role you will be involved in preparing our guest service teams for the Championships, supporting the operational delivery on the ground, helping to deliver the guest services (accessibility, information points, lost property) and responding to guest inquires in a professional and timely manner.
Museum Collections Assistant (February to August)
The Museum & Collections team is responsible for the historic collection held by Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum. The collection consists of over one million items that tell the story of lawn tennis and The Championships. The purpose of this role is to support the Museum & Collections team to create access to the historic collection through collections care and documentation. This position will include cataloguing items on our collections management system, carrying out collections research to improve incomplete documentation, and ensuring items are stored in appropriate way. During The Championships, you will assist with processing items collected to represent that year’s tournament. Through this role you will have an opportunity to develop excellent knowledge of museum documentation and collections management.

Professional Tennis Department

Player & Tennis Operations Assistant (February to August)
The Professional Tennis team are responsible for delivering the player services and experience to all those competing at The Championships, as well as their guests. This includes pre-Championships practice and the Qualifying competition. This role provides an opportunity for someone with a keen interest in event operations and player services to provide administrative and event support to the team in the build up to and during the tournament. Responsibilities will include managing the pre-arrival admin for players, support teams and wider tennis family, such as visas, accreditation and general correspondence; setting up operational facilities for player-facing teams, responding to player queries through the designated inbox, assisting with travel and accommodation for our 14 & Under players, preparing and distributing player gifts, and management of Last 8 Club accreditation and tickets.
