Job description
We are looking for an individual to support the Retail team with administrative tasks in the build up to and during The Championships. This is a full-time fixed term position starting on 3 February through to 25 July 2025.
What you will be doing
- Assist the Retail Operations Coordinator with administrative tasks including preparation of documents, presentations, and buying & merchandising spreadsheets.
- Assist with implementation of merchandising plans across all outlets and maintaining these plans to reflect sell-through as the fortnight progresses.
- Support with store deliveries by booking deliveries into the stock system to enable quick availability of stock.
- Assist with stocking in process. This may involve manual work including counting, checking, and merchandising stock.
- Create delivery notes and assist with labelling of stock intended for outbound transfer to our online fulfilment centre.
- Respond to queries in a timely manner providing excellent levels of service whilst always respecting Wimbledon’s core values.
- Support and facilitate sessions during championship staff training days.
- Assist with recording and distributing Championships uniforms to all retail staff.
- Assist in the distribution and management of radios during pre-event and Championships periods.
- Provide ongoing support for day-to-day operational activities in all outlets.
- Oversee stock levels of stationery and other shop floor supplies and, place orders when necessary.
- Support on EPOS install and in-event support as required.
- Assistant the Retail team with the movement of samples, equipment, and supplies across the site and other locations.
During The Championships
- Work as part of the back-office team to ensure the smooth running and operation of the retail and merchandise experience at The Championships.
- Assist with troubleshooting from retail managers and shop floor assistants with regard to customer enquiries, use of tills, location of stock, inventory levels and shift patterns.
- Run and format daily stock & sales reports for distribution to team members and suppliers.
- Support the customer service operation if required.
What we are looking for
- Experience in events or the retail industry, showcasing the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, especially during The Championships.
- A full UK driving licence is desired.
- Proficiency in using a pallet truck for safe handling of goods.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Smart and presentable while representing the AELTC.
- Excellent communication and English language skills.
- High level of numeracy and accuracy when entering data.
- Reasonable level of computer literacy, including moderate Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Applicants must be 18 years or older to work and be able to provide evidence of the relevant documentation entitling them to work in the UK.
Other Information
Must be available to work throughout the 14 days of The Championships (30 June to 13 July) and during the week prior, maintaining some flexibility in the rare case of additional days due to rain delays.
Contract will be based on working a 5-day week, 9am to 5pm until the weekend before The Championships.
The successful candidate will spend two days working in our year-round shop in their first week.
During The Championships, shift lengths will vary between 7.15am and 10.15pm.
Owing to the nature of the event flexibility will be necessary in the weeks prior to The Championships.
This employment contract will run from Monday 3 February until Friday 25 July.
