Job description

We're looking for a Payroll Coordinator (FTC) to support the Payroll Team to deliver an accurate and reliable service across different year-round pay groups and working to deliver the preparation and processing of payroll to support our Championships workforce of circa 2000 colleagues.

 

This role is fixed term.

What you will be doing

  • Assist with preparation of monthly payrolls for permanent and temporary staffing groups, including timesheets and overtime, ensuring it is duly authorised
  • Processing starter declarations for high volume temporary staff groups
  • Contacting new joiners for missing declarations and bank account details
  • Assisting the Payroll Manager with the review of monthly payroll and amendments prior to review by Group Financial Controller and sign off by Financial Director
  • Managing the payroll email inbox to investigate, resolve and respond to all queries from employees, managers and HMRC
  • Checking and processing monthly expense claims
  • Assisting payroll manager with monthly payroll reporting actual v forecast balances
  • Hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, although flexibility is required to meet the demands of the job, especially during July and the post Championships period to 31 July when the job holder must be prepared to work additional hours which may include weekends.

About You

  • Experience of payroll processing and administration essential, preferably on People XD platform
  • Good knowledge of payroll compliance, legislation and HMRC guidelines, including SMP and SPP and pension auto enrolment
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry and processing is imperative
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong IT skills – Microsoft Office:  Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A positive, pro-active approach together with the ability to work well within a team environment and complete tasks requested to assist the team to meet its goals
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and inter-personal) with both finance, HR and wider business
  • Good analytical and numeracy skills
