In this commercial finance role, you’ll be responsible for providing insightful and high quality reporting and analysis to support a range of Championships profit and cost centres for the Commercial and Professional Tennis departments including broadcast, digital, marketing, brand strategy and retail. You will:
- Provide business partnering support to managers to help them understand and manage their budgets and assist with contract negotiations and tender evaluations;
- Provide financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision making as appropriate;
- Provide well-founded financial forecasts, especially in the build up to The Championships and be able to identify unexpected budget variances and ensure that all significant items are explained satisfactorily;
- Prepare year end management accounts in August (to 31 July year end);
- Prepare annual budgets building up expenditure from contractual and anticipated activities;
- Create and deliver detailed monthly and quarterly management accounting schedules including variance analysis;
- Work closely with other finance colleagues to ensure accurate recording and processing of financial information;
- Monitor and improve financial processes and reporting to enable insightful information to be provided to managers, Directors and the board;
- Use your knowledge and expertise to help business colleagues address and resolve problems as they arise, for example with invoices or payments to suppliers and covering financial colleagues’ work when they are out of the office;
- Support the Group Finance Manager with the year end audit process and liaise with the external auditors.
What part your role will play in The Championships
You will spend time with business managers to understand the detailed operations involved in running The Championships to aid the delivery of your work.
About you
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA) with relevant post qualification experience (likely to be between two to five years post qualified);

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Strong IT skills: highly proficient in applying Microsoft Excel for financial analysis;
- Dedicated and consistent attention to detail;
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and multi-task;
- Self-motivated and proactive with a flexible approach; willing to contribute to the ongoing development of the business.
- The role will use Agresso accounting software, including purchase orders. Training can be provided.
