Job description
We are looking for an Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our Estate Management Team.
What you will be doing
- Support the Engineering Maintenance Manager in delivering the operational requirements across the Estate for both Electrical, Public Health and Mechanical by providing a first class all year-round service with world class support for The Championships.
- Ensure excellent service delivery across the estate by displaying the organisations values of Heritage, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.
- Responsible for day-to-day operational resource planning by giving direction and guidance to the Engineering team including prioritisation of tasks and co-ordination of AELTC staff and sub-contractors.
- Direct people management responsibility for the in-house team of Building and Services Technicians including the Electrical and Public Health technicians, as well as any supporting contractor teams.
- Provide best practice technical coaching to the team to support resolutions, escalating issues to the Engineering Maintenance Manager when required.
- Accountable for the maintenance of the building services ensuring all systems are fully operational and compliant
- In conjunction with the EM Management team review and evolve our approach to out-of-hours support inclusive of rostering
- Assist with Isolations safety documentation as required and supporting the AELTC Electrical Authorised Person.
- Support the Engineering Maintenance Manager in the ongoing development of the Building Services team, working together to implement a plan to ensure we have the right skill sets to maintain the Estate.
- Accountable for ensuring that monthly meridian compliance documentation is completed and up to date.
- Monthly review of outstanding PPM’s and Reactive tasks to ensure all details are updated on Concept FSI working closely with the Helpdesk team
What part your role will play in The Championships
- Provide operational support to the Engineering Maintenance Manager on all Engineering systems.
- Support the Engineering Maintenance Manager with operational planning and direction and guidance to the Building Services Team.
- Ensure Engineering systems reliability and resilience is maintained through the management of specialist contractors and timely reporting and rectification of issues.
- Monitor and report on operational status and performance of the Engineering systems for future development projects and maintenance planning.
About you
- Excellent planning, organisational and delivery skills and comfortable with periods of pressure
- Competency in Engineering Systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work successfully across a broad spectrum of stakeholders including consultants, contractors, public and staff.
- A recognised electrical or mechanical qualification.
- Have a thorough working knowledge of Electrical systems.
- Experience of the operation and management of Life Safety Systems.
- First-line experience in coordinating and managing people with a desire to develop your leadership skills.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.

- The Estate Department provides the development and operational function for the AELTC’s entire Estate. These include some of iconic elements such as the retractable roofs on Centre Court and No.1 Court and less visible elements such as the extensive Engineering systems across the estate. Recent activities include the construction of a new indoor tennis centre, upgrade of the site-wide Building management systems and the implementation of an online compliance management system.
