Job description

What you will be doing

  • Day to day operation and support of our on-premises runtime platform using VMWare with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Ensuring the resilience of the runtime platform by managing our backup and disaster recovery technologies.
  • Ensuring the integrity of the runtime platform by deploying appropriate technical and organisational measures.
  • Administering our portfolio of cloud services on Microsoft Azure, including configuring resources, backups and database restores.
  • Ensuring platform services and applications are maintained for maximum availability and performance whilst meeting capacity and security levels.
  • Improving the observability of both our on-premises and cloud platforms, integrating logging and monitoring into our IT management platform.
  • Planning and deploying maintenance of the runtime platform, including patches and upgrades.
  • Researching, recommending and implementing new features and components of our runtime platforms as necessary to meet the needs of our applications and digital products.
  • Contributing to the definition of future runtime platforms, collaborating with colleagues across the department.

What part your role will play in The Championships

  • Working with third parties to integrate and maintain IT services and security across the Championships systems and network.
  • Implementing enhanced controls for The Championships and promptly triage and resolve incidents in the manner associated with a real-time sporting event.

About you

  • Certified Microsoft Azure Administrator with demonstrable experience.
  • Certified VMWare Administrator with demonstrable experience, including knowledge of backup technologies.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and delivery skills and comfortable with periods of pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work successfully across a broad spectrum of stakeholders including consultants, contractors and colleagues.
  • Experience of configuration and administration of Microsoft 365 and Mimecast email protection
  • Good working knowledge of databases, both on-premises and cloud, SQL and NoSQL.
  • Experience of designing cloud and hybrid solutions, particularly around disaster recovery planning.
  • Knowledge and experience of Terraform or another Infrastructure-as-code tool.
  • Knowledge of information security principles including awareness of relevant cyber security tools and best practices.
  • Experience of IT management software such as Solarwinds and Splunk.
  • Experience of IT service management software such as Freshservice or ServiceNow.

Application and data integration have become increasingly important to provide services for Wimbledon.com and our official apps.
